DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1 :
ARRIVAL- On arrival at Maun International Airport in Botswana around noon your local safari guide will be there to welcome you.
A supply vehicle with staff and equipment will leave earlier in the day to go ahead and set up your camp. The exact departure time from Maun Airport will be advised closer to the time, as this depends on the commercial airlines flight schedules.
We leave Maun and begin our journey in our 4x4 vehicle and we head to the Okavango Delta, stopping for a packed lunch en-route and arriving at our campsite near sunset.
On your arrival at the bush camp you will be shown to your tent and you will have time to relax with a drink while watching the sunset and listening to the night sounds before dinner is served.
During dinner the guide will give a informative talk about the safari and what you can expect in the days ahead and you can ask all the questions you want.
DAY 2 :
MORNING ACTIVITY - We start early with our safari drive to explore the magic Okavango Delta. It is a true oasis in the middle of a desert and it is quite simply one of the top wildlife destinations in Africa. Later during our safari a coffee stop will be made at a beautiful spot. During midday we come back to camp to have lunch and relax in the peaceful surroundings.
The Okavango Delta is a vast and expansive area approximately 15 500 sq km's. Here land and water meet to create stunning savannah landscape alongside a network of floodplains with waterways, lagoons, pools, pans, grasslands with riparian, riverine and Mopani forests. It is home to some of the world’s greatest wildlife congregations making this a spectacular safari area with great opportunities to see the large mammals and bird species of Africa.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITY- We do a game drive in a different direction and area to explore more of the Delta's many loops and trails while always searching for the big mammals that call this paradise home. The day ends when we arrive back at camp where you can relax with gin and tonic or a ice cold beer while waiting for the sumptuous dinner to be served around the campfire.
DAY 3 :
MORNING ACTIVITY- After breakfast we depart on another exciting safari drive to our next camp - Khwai. The crew will move our tents to a new site in the Khwai region and lunch and your tent will be ready on arrival.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITY- After lunch we go on safari and keep searching and enjoying the sights and sounds of the mammals around us. We keep a special lookout for the sable antelope which frequents the area .The day ends with sharing a sun downer drink while watching the sunset in the new location.
DAY4 :
MORNING ACRTIVITY - Our safari drive will take us along the Khwai river where an abundance of giraffes, zebras, impala, lechwe, elephants and other mammals traverse the area, including the notorious Big Five and the rare roan antelope. Clients can also expect to see beautiful bird species especially large and small raptors, flocks of water birds and the rare wattled crane.
We will arrive at our new camp for lunch and to rest and relax before our afternoon safari to further explore the Khwai wilderness. At night the air is filled with sounds of owls and nightjars and sometimes the roar of a passing lion.
DAY 5 :
MORNING ACTIVITY- Following breakfast our safari takes us to a different area of the Khwai concession. We explore both bush and river areas were you will see pods of hippo, flocks of lechwe , kudu’s and the always present elephants.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITY - After lunch we go on safari and keep searching and enjoying all the special sightings of different species of wildlife which frequents the area .The day ends with sharing a sun downer drink while watching the sunset.
DAY 6:
MORNING ACTIVITY - After breakfast we take a long slow drive to our next camp in Savuti area of the Delta. The crew will in the meantime move the camp and prepare our next camp in Savuti. We will be welcomed with a scrumptious lunch.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES – We go out in search of the elephants that frequent this beautiful but harsh region of Botswana. After the game drive it is time to enjoy a drink during the sunset while the crew is preparing our dinner.
DAY 7:
MORNING activity – Another beautiful day to explore the Botswana bush and enjoy the Savuti area returning to camp for lunch and some free time
.THE SAVUTI AREA IS PARTICULARLY FAMOUS FOR ITS CONCETRATION OF LIONS WHICH ARE KNOWN FOR HUNTING ELEPHANTS.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITY - The Savuti area is famous for the elephant hunting lions and hopefully we get to see some of them during our afternoon safari.
In the afternoon the colours are amazing , created by dust and elephants and it is also the time when the nocturnal mammals and birds start getting active.
Day 8 :
MORNING activity – We leave the sandy and dusty Savuti and head to another famous part of Botswana – Chobe National Park where our crew will set up camp at a beautiful location. Once again we arrive in time for a delicious bush lunch.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES - We do an very exciting boat cruise on the Chobe river for our afternoon excursion. We will spot both elephants and hippos and an abundance of birds along and in the river.The Chobe sunsets are the best time of the day
DAY 9 :
MORNING Activity- We do another exiting safari in the Chobe National park
Chobe national park is situated in Northeastern Botswana and is approximately 10 000square kilometres. It has many special mammals like the Puku, Chobe bushbuck and red lechewe.
Afternoon activity – Those who want can join the afternoon safari drive and experience the beautiful colours during sunset while sipping on your Gin and Tonic.
DAY 10 :
Today we travel to Zimbabwe and do a tour of the mighty Victoria Falls. We take our packed lunch with and spend the day exploring the Falls and the town with all the beautiful African craft markets. In the afternoon we travel back to Botswana and enjoy our dinner in our camp under the stars.
DAY 11:
After breakfast and we bid farewell to each other and make our way to Kasane airport for the connecting flights.
